Barracudas called arrow pikes (Sphyraenidae) are predatory fish from the order Perciformes. There are currently a total of 26 known species. All of them belong to one genus.
They live in tropical and subtropical areas of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. Adults are exclusively marine, juveniles also migrate to the brackish waters of estuaries. They feed on fish and are not animals maintained in aquariums. Exceptions are very large display aquariums in zoos.
