Pisaster brevispinus (Stimpson, 1857)

Pisaster brevispinus is a starfish of the order Forcipulata and is common on the Pacific coast of North America.

It is a very large starfish with a diameter of up to 60 cm and weighs up to 1 kg.

These starfish feed predatorily on invertebrates, but carrion is not spurned either.
