Echinaster colemani Rowe & Albertson, 1987

The star fish has five long arms, plain red-brown surface colouration and numerous purple papulae. This is one of the rarer large seastars in temperate waters and is generally restricted to deep New South Wales reefs.

Colours range from red, through orange to brown

Named after the Australian naturalist, underwater nature photographer, writer, publisher and educator Neville Coleman.
