Ceratophyllidia africana Eliot, 1903
Ceratophyllidia, despite the large 'cerata-like' tubercles on its back, is a phyllidiid nudibranch, closely related to Phyllidia, Reticulidia, Phyllidiella and related genera.They are known for their unusually soft, spherical and stalked tubercules on their upper dorsa.
The rhinophores are cream to white.They have a uniform creamish yellow dorsum from which arise the stalked papillae, the papillae are cream and their uppermost surfaces possess an aggregation of small black spots. Each rhinophore with 16 to 20 lamellae.
