Info
Turrilatirus turritus is a widespread species of sea snail from the family Fasciolariidae, which is particularly conspicuous for the banded colouring of its shell.
With a size of up to 6.5 cm, the snail does not belong to the giants among the shell snails, but it is nevertheless dangerous for many other marine animals, since Turrilatirus turritus feeds on them as a predatory carnivore.
With the help of its radula, Turrilatirus turritus also works its way through firmer outer shells to get at the coveted flesh of its victims.
