Myoxocephalus polyacanthocephalus (Pallas, 1814)

The characertistics of the group, a large head with preopercular (cheek) spines, a relatively small tapering body and a pair of large fan-like pectoral fins producting from just behind the head.

Similar to the frog sculpin (Myoxocephalus stelleri) and to the plain sculpin (Myoxocephalus jaok).
