Calcinus pictus (Owen, 1839)

The Painted Hermit Crab is common in shallow water exposed to wave action. This species tends to be more aggressive than other members of the genus. Endemic to Hawaiii. Formerly known in Hawaiii as the Indo-Pacific Calcinus elegans.
