Tetraclita rufotincta Pilsbry, 1916

Tetraclita rufotincta is a barnacle with four pink or gray plates (exoskeleton), tubular walls and tiny ribs.Inside lives a barnacle that fans out plankton by constantly filter feeding.

This barnacle is found on rocks in the intertidal zone, while other barnacles are found on e.g. corals on whales or on ship hulls.
