Elysia subornata A. E. Verrill, 1901

Nudibranch genus Elysia feed primilary by piercing and sucking algae cells (chloroplasts).They are sap Sucking Slugs.Thats why Elysia is,like their food, often green.Young species are brownish or beige in colour.

Elysia subornata feeds on the green algae Caulerpa prolifera and Caulerpa taxifolia.

This sapsucking slug is variable in colour, being found in shades of green, olive and beige, sometimes with a reddish tinge. It has broad parapodia with thick white margins sometimes edged in brown or black. The parapodia are covered in tiny papillae. Rhinophores are also papillose.
