Panopeus herbstii H. Milne Edwards, 1834

Panopeus herbstii have black or brown claws of unequal size. Panopeus herbstii has a strong exoskeleton, with very thick and strong claws. The shell is a dull gray and brown color.

Feeds on oysters, gastropods, hermit crabs and is a scavenger.
