Eudistoma amplum is a colonial sea squirt that forms a robust, irregular plate about 1 - 3cm thick with circular systems of about six zooids, each with a long atrial opening into a small common cloacal cavity in the center of the circle.

Dimensions of colonies of 20 cm. Long, 10 cm. Width and 10 to 30 mm. Thickness are possible.

Sand and brown pigment are often found in the lower half of the colony, which may also contain the zooids.

Eudistoma amplum occurs in different color morphs, red, white, yellow
