Ciocalypta tyleri has numerous finger-shaped and transparent fistulas with a central axis and the general structure of the skeleton characterize the genus Ciocalypta Bowerbank,

The marine sponge is massive, sessile, consisting of numerous, densely packed, attenuating branches rising vertically from a common base.
The branches gradually become thinner towards the top, rather pointed, completely closed, deeply furrowed or wavy.
The oscules are simple, distributed over all parts of the sponge, the pores are inconspicuous, dispersed.
The dermis is smooth and abundantly covered with spines, which are spiny, small and slender and distributed over the entire surface of the membrane,

Color creamy white when dried.
