Info

This cuttlefish lives in warm water (27-30°C) and is fast growing. They mate and spawn at 110 days and their life span is 240 days. They lay about 1500 eggs which take 14 days to develop at 28°C. Males are larger than females.
The photo was taken by Michael L. during a dive in the Red Sea.
It probably shows the large Pharaoh cuttlefish, Acanthosepion pharaonis.

Most cuttlefish only live for about 2 years in the aquarium.

Cuttlefish feed on crustaceans and fish, whereby the beak and the radula are able to grind any food into small pieces.

Cuttlefish can maneuver excellently with the help of their typical fin fringes.
Males are smaller than females.

In case of danger, they can eject ink.
They are also able to change their coloration at lightning speed.
