Characters: Colonies are primarily encrusting but may develop broad explanate laminae. These laminae often have radiating ridges. Corallites are small, closely compacted and superficial. The coenosteum commonly has Hydnophora-like monticules. Septo-costae are thin and equal, giving colonies a smooth surface. Columellae are small styles.
Colour: Pale to dark brown or greenish-brown.
Habitat: Shallow reef environments.
Abundance: Uncommon.
