Synanceia verrucosa Bloch & Schneider, 1801

Stone-fish should only be kept by very experienced aquariest. Curation itself is simple, they are not very delicate at all, they are very toxic though!

An anti-venom is available but needs to be applied very quickly. The fish keeps it's tail-fin usually wrapped. It's color is variable. Lives in depth up to 30m and will reach a max. weight of up to 5.2 pounds.

Was die Haltung betrifft, os ist der Steinfisch, als recht Pflegeleicht ein zu stufen und sie brauchen auch nicht extrem viel Platz.

Das Becken sollte so gestaltet sein, dass es Sandzonen und Felsige Zonen gibt. Sehr interessant ist, dass sich die Tiere teilweise an ihre Umgebung anpassen können d.h. sogar kleine Buckel und Zacken ausbilden, um so noch besser getarnt zu sein, wobei diese "Tarnfähigkeit natürlich nur begrenzt ist.

Andere Fische im selben Becken zu halten ist ein grosses Risiko, da er alles was in sein Maul passt frisst und das ist echt ne Menge. Ganz wichtig ist, dass man, beim Hantieren im Becken, immer vorsichtig ist und nicht plötzlich in den Fisch greift, denn sein Gift ist absolut tödlich. Wie oben schon erwähnt gibt es ein Serum, aber dieses muss extrem schnell verabreicht werden, sonst ist es zu spät. Desshalb VORSICHT!!!!
