In the wild it feeds upon zooplankton. A fast moving fish needing much swimming space and very good water movement. Requires a varied diet of fresh and frozen meaty foods, with several feeding per day. Rarely seen in the trade. Basically a 'bait’ fish in the wild.

Ranges widely around coral reefs. Found in schools.
Large fish-only or reef aquariums/Better left in the wild.
