Balanus balanus (Linnaeus, 1758)

The large barnacle occurs on hard surfaces including stones and shells in salt water and brackish waters up to a depth of several hundred meters, sometimes also on ship hulls.

Balanus balanus is grayish-white in color and has a highly conical and circular shape with an irregular margin.
