Pseudojuloides xanthomos Randall & Randall, 1981

The Picture is from De Jong Marinelife, Netherlands.
The one characteristic of Pseudojuloides xanthomos is to have black part at the first line of dorsal fin which is readily visible in these specimens.

Indian Ocean: known only from a single male specimen sampled in Pointe aux Canonniers, Mauritius.

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.
