Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Chelicorophium curvispinum are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Chelicorophium curvispinum, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Chelicorophium curvispinum, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

(G.O. Sars, 1895)

The mud crab or tube crab is an invasive species, which is opening up ever larger habitats.

The small crayfish originally comes from fresh water, but also colonizes brackish water areas and now also various seas such as the North Sea, Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, which speaks for a high tolerance of different salinity levels.
From an aquarium point of view, however, the crayfish is of no interest.
