In addition to the usual information, FishBase states that this species is not nearly as territorial as other damselfish, i.e. rather well-behaved perches.
But beware: at up to 13 cm, it grows considerably larger than the better-known species (Chromis viridis)
General information about Chromis species:
Chromis damselfish always come together in larger groups, sometimes also in shoals, and like to seek shelter in Acropora type stony corals, into which they disappear in a flash as soon as larger animals or divers come into their immediate vicinity.
During the breeding season, the eggs are glued to various substrates and fertilized by the males.
The males are also responsible for brood care, guarding and ventilating the eggs.
Chromis perch are popular aquarium fish and are available in almost every marine aquarium store and can also be kept very well in our aquariums with the types of food available today.
