Because of their papillaed upper surface, they are easily confused with Thysanozoon flatworms.Flatworms genus Acanthozoon have only a single male copulative organ contrary to Thysanozoon (have two).
Acanthozoon flatworms live in warm tropical marine waters. They are benthic and carnivorous.
