Acanthistius sebastoides (Castelnau, 1861)

Acanthistius sebastoides is one of the most common Rockcod fishes within Southern Africa.The Common koester can be identified by orange spots on a pale grey brown body with a blue tip on the tail.Its prey mainly include crabs, small fish and invertebrates.

This koester are commonly caught by anglers.
