Info

Goniobranchus albopunctatus Garrett, 1879

The snail is oval and very flat. The base color of the mantle ranges from red to orange with numerous white speckles and round spots, and the magnificent star snail has a multi-colored mantle edge, the edges are arranged in the order yellow, dark blue and light blue. In some animals, the dark blue and light blue bands are in the reverse order. The foot is light yellow or yellow-orange.

Juvenile specimens still have dark spots in front of the entire blue edge of the mantle. These dark spots close over time to form a blackish, dark band in front of the blue mantle edge.

Goniobranchus albopunctatus is a rare species that has been found on rocky soils. The spawn is deposited in peach-colored bands.
