Cominella adspersa, common name the speckled whelk or kawari in Maori, is a predatory sea snail in the family Buccinidae, the true whelks. This snail is an active scavenging carnivore.
Variation in shell shape in Cominella adspersa.
Endemic to New Zeland. This whelk is found along the coast of North Island, northern South Island, and the Chatham Islands.
